My name is Sheila Herrera. I am a children’s book writer, creating children’s books that share a sense of Latino joy with universal meaning. From humorous to heartfelt, I write picture books, nonfiction picture book biographies, fairy tale and folklore retellings with a Latino twist. I am a third generation Mexican-American and former special education teacher, which are reflected in many of my stories.
